Poster B&TB
It’s so much fun spotting Neil everywhere in scotland!

( I can’t believe that I actually subliminally coordinate with my illustrations!)

WOW I had such a wonderful weekend at TB&TB musical last weekend!

It was fantastic hearing the live music in connection with the book-
it actually brought me and my friend to tears, it was so beautiful!

Whilst I was up in that neck of the woods, I also got to take a quick peek at my latest illustration for Queen’s Hall Theatre!
Really happy with how the illustration of the violin came out on the
banners along the building wall and on the brochures too!

Also, I FINALLY set up a tumblr account!
Yay! So now you can follow/add/question,
(or whatever it is you do on tumblr.. as it’s all alien to me right now!)
and say Hi! You can visit me here! <(click me!)

Sorry for the rather eclectic post!
Life is rather hectic at the mo!
Night night all!

It’s been forever since my last post.. so much has been happening!
I’ve got lots of exciting news and things, but the most exciting of all, is that

The Boy and the Bunnet‘ (or Balach Na Bonaid!)
A brave boy, a wee bunnet, a big adventure.

(a children’s book illustration project that I’ve been delighted to be involved in, and working on for a while now with Celtic Connections and Big Sky)
…. is actually being performed as a musical! How cool is that?

You can get tickets here, and see more about the project here!

I’m actually coming up from Nottingham to see the play in Feburary, so exciting!
I completely can’t wait, and it’ll be so lovely to be back in Scotland!

That’s all for now folks, but watch this space!

Bull Ring Yarnbomb!

I spotted  this yarn bombing happening in Birmingham Bull Ring today-
it’s utter GENIUS and definitely made passers-by smile! They gave him a wee warm jumper!  (it was pretty cold to be fair!)

Deer Oh Deer!

Deer oh deer!

It’s been far too long since my last post! I’ve had my head in a graphic design cloud and my time consumed by full time work and also creating roughs for two of my commissions. (One of them the QH theatre!) Nothing too exciting to report really, but I’m in the process of creating a small scale piece for the ‘Open Eye Gallery’ in Edinburgh for their Christmas Exhibition, and I stumbled upon this pattern and pointillism concept. But I decided to go with a different ‘eye’dea (sorry..) and thought I’d share this with you anyway! I think I’ll make these into wee little christmas cards!:) Cheerio for now! x

One for Sorrow, Two for Joy…

October 18th, 2011 § Leave a Comment

One for Sorrow..

One for Sorrow, Two for Joy, Three for a Girl, Four for a Boy, Five for Silver, Six for Gold, Seven for a Secret Never to be Told, Eight for a Message from Over the Sea…

Where I’m living right now is magpie, heron and crow country, but over  the weekend I spotted a huge amount of magpies, I was lucky enough to have my camera nearby and take some beautiful snaps before they all flew away.

On a random note, before I got here I also had a great fascination with silverfish as I hadn’t ever seen one, and I spotted one in my bathroom recently so I took the opportunity to take some photos of something that’s so alien to me!

I named him Farthing..

And to end on a much sunnier note, I took some beautiful photographs of stormy skies with a rainbow from my window.  I’ve been dedicating so much time on full time work and my private commissions I’ve not had much time to do any personal work. I’ll do an illustration Friday on here again soon I promise!

Somewhere over the rainbow..

I’ll be back soon with doodles and drawings!
